Helpful sites to get started

Trying to wade through oceans of weight loss sites can be a supremely hard task if you aren’t entirely sure what you’re looking for.  Google’s search algorithm is very intelligent, but it has it’s limitations.  To that end, here’s some sites that will get you a good jump start in the right direction. This is the USDA’s go-to site for all things you can consume that are good for you!  It has a variety of different topics in the sidebar that can teach you what sorts of foods are not only healthy, but necessary for your daily intake of vitamins and minerals. Top ranked body building site, offers a ton of information on not just eating right, but exercises that will help you build or define any sort of muscle you’re hoping to attain.  A literal treasure trove of information and resources right at your fingertips!  Perhaps the best part of this site is their forum, where members can find support and feedback from others on the same path. Fitness magazine, another leader in its field has loads of content that is massively helpful.  This link points to motivation, but there’s SO much more to explore including blog posts.  No part of a healthy living overhaul is complete without staying motivated, and sometimes that is the hardest part.

Best Workout Songs by Ask Men – Working out can be so much fun, even more so when you have music that moves your body as well as your spirit.  The best workout songs tend to be the ones with 100bpm, so this selection is not the only one that will give you great ideas on what to listen to that will pump you up.  Another by the same site Top 10 home workouts, will show you how you can avoid the gym and still get your daily exercise in.  The site offers plenty, though it is aimed at men. This post by well known Women’s Health magazine is aimed more toward the ladies, and covers 9 weight loss tips for a quick start.  And this one by Woman’s Day beats it with 75: 75 weight loss tips.

One of the very best blogs I’ve found anywhere though, and really recommend to anyone on a weight loss journey is  Especially if you find you’re into Marvel or DC comics, comicon, if you’re a Trekkie or a Star Wars fan, or if you eat, live breathe and sleep Firefly.   It takes fitness to a level a lot of people who just aren’t mainstream can identify with.

Hopefully these links will be a great start, there’s certainly plenty of information to be gleaned from within it’s pixeled pages.  Everything from nutrition to staying motivated, exercises for both the gym and at home, and forums so you can be heard, ask questions, and feel like you’re part of a community you can relate to.
